Center for Families and Relationships is working to raise awareness around mental health and wellness through some exciting community events. Events include a North Philadelphia Community Wellness Day in the spring, a Movie Night at Pelbano Recreation Center in the summer, and a Fall Family Fun Event. Our events are focused on wellness, family, mental health, and fun! CFAR Movie Night on August 12, 2026
Save the Date for our 6th Annual Movie Night on Wednesday, August 12th at 7:30pm at Pelbano Rec Center in Northeast Philadelphia. We’ll have fun activities, games, snacks, and then kicking back to watch Men in Black a little after 8pm. It’s the perfect way to spend a summer evening.

Community Wellness Day on May 9, 2026
Our second annual Community Wellness Day was held at Honickman Learning Center on May 9, 2026 from 1-3:30pm. We had to shift the event inside, but we still had a bounce house, music, dancing, yoga, and a cool mental health obstacle course! We’re so grateful to everyone who attended!
Fall Family Fun Event: Community Health Break on November 1, 2025
What a perfect way to refresh after a sugar-fueled Halloween! Our Community Health Break at Tustin Rec Center was an absolute blast. Everyone had a chance to move their bodies with lots of great music, the kiddos competed in a very cool mental health obstacle course, and there were plenty of games and activities to keep folks of all ages engaged. We were able to share some great information and resources with the attendees, and our team came away more inspired than ever to continue this incredible work in the community.
5th Annual Movie Night on August 6, 2025
CFAR’s annual movie night is something the Northeast community looks forward to every year. 2025 was our 5th year, and it was an energetic evening sharing mental health resources, playing games, handing out snacks, and settling in to watch the classic “The Incredibles” at Pelbano Rec Center.
North Philadelphia Community Wellness Day on May 10, 2025
Our North Philadelphia Community Wellness Day was an incredible success! The event was filled with good food, good music, excellent mental health resources, fun wellness activities, yoga, and community strength. Our Together Through Trauma team is so proud to support these communities with much-needed free trauma services, and our outpatient team connected with so many individuals and families that are looking forward to taking advantage of the accessible services in their neighborhood.
4th Annual Movie Night on August 16, 2024
Our 2024 annual movie night was so much fun! The weather was beautiful, and a fantastic crowd came out to Pelbano Rec Center watch the Emoji Movie, eat some delicious snacks, check out some excellent mental health resources, and learn more about CFAR services. Thank you to everyone who joined!
30th Anniversary Breakfast
CFAR celebrated our 30th Anniversary with a wonderful breakfast on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 8:30-10:30am at the Arts Ballroom. We were so grateful to have so many friends, partners, and supporters join us! Special thank you to our sponsors HMA, WSFS Bank, The Therapy Group, and Wawa, and to all of those who placed journal ads.
