CFAR’s Together Through Trauma (TTT) program is expanding into rec centers throughout Philadelphia thanks to an incredible $999,000 grant! At a press conference on Friday, April 21st at 1pm at Tustin Playground in Philadelphia, CFAR CEO Jordan Brogan was joined by Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis, Mayor Jim Kenney, Councilmember Curtis Jones, Jr., Senator Vincent Hughes, Rep. Morgan Cephas, Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell, Sheldon Robinson, and Dr. Greg Allen to speak about the exciting expansion of CFAR’s TTT programming into Philadelphia Rec Centers. TTT is a free program for Philadelphia residents recovering from gun violence trauma, as well as for community stakeholders. TTT programming includes Community Workshops (workshops will cover issues such as understanding trauma and its impact, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, coping skills and other issues that are important to the community); Free Counseling Services (therapists provide evidence-based trauma services to eligible clients directly impacted by gun violence who present with PTSD symptoms, and these services include Prolonged Exposure for adults and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children); and Staff Trainings (CFAR staff will provide training to an organization’s staff around how to engage families in treatment and how to be trauma informed.)
