Together Through Trauma

Together Through Trauma

Together Through Trauma is a free program for Philadelphia residents recovering from gun violence trauma, as well as for community stakeholders. To learn more, contact Syeeda Martin at 215-537-5367 ext. 4005 or gvp@cfarcounseling.org. You can also visit the Together Through Trauma Page for more information.

Programming Includes:

Community Workshops
Community Trauma Workshops will cover issues such as understanding trauma and its impact, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, coping skills and other issues that are important to the community.

Free Counseling Services
CFAR therapists provide evidenced based trauma services to those directly impacted by gun violence who present with PTSD symptoms. These services include Prolonged Exposure for adults and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children. Eligible clients will participate in this evidenced based trauma service.

Staff Trainings
CFAR staff will provide training to an organization’s staff around how to engage families in treatment and how to be trauma informed. Training could involve clinical supervision to provide support to help address secondary traumatic stress that may be experienced after working with others who have experienced significant trauma.
