CFAR April 2025 Newsletter

Center for Families and Relationships is thrilled to announce that we have opened new outpatient offices within the Project HOME Helen Brown Community Center in the heart of North Philadelphia on April 21st! CFAR has been seeking to open a new site for years, in order to improve access to our services in targeted communities and to be able to serve more clients in general. Thanks to a grant from Pew Charitable Trusts, CFAR was able to move the goal of opening a new site to the top of the priority list. Once CFAR and Project HOME began collaborating, it was only a matter of time before we landed on a successful plan. It’s been a whirlwind of paperwork, setting up offices, and hiring an excellent team, and now the site is finally open. The hours will be a mix of in-person and virtual from Monday-Friday 11am-7pm, and the team has been scheduling clients and connecting with the nearbycommunity. We know that our innovative approaches and excellent reputation will make for great success at this new location. Mark your calendars and please join us for a North Philadelphia Community Wellness event at Project HOME’s Helen Brown Community Center on May 10th from 1-3:30pm! We will have food, games, music and wellness activities and resources for the community. CFAR is so excited to collaborate with Project HOME to bring this event to North Philadelphia community where we have just opened our new site. It’s a great opportunity to share information about both our Together Through Trauma program services, and our outpatient services at Helen Brown Community Center. With the weather warming up, CFAR's Together Through Trauma (TTT) program has been kicking outreach efforts into high gear. The team is working to to make sure targeted communities know about the free TTT services available, and to raise awareness around mental health and trauma. Highlights include a town hall at Lonnie Young Rec Center following the recent tragic shooting there, an anti-violence march with IDAAY (pictured), and a wellness event in Kensington. We are so grateful for all of the partners that give TTT these opportunities to reach the communities that need our services the most. Email ttt@cfarcounseling.org with any questions or requests.

We are proud to announce that Lynn E. Roberts III, Esq. has joined the Center for Families and Relationships Board of Directors. Lynn is the Founder and Principal Attorney of Roberts Legal Group, LLC, where he provides strategic counsel in intellectual property and business law to entrepreneurs, small businesses, and growth-stage companies. Recognized for his thought leadership and legal impact, Mr. Roberts was named one of Delaware Business Times’ 2024 Top 40 Under 40 Business Leaders, as well as a Top 40 Under 40 Attorney in Pennsylvania by the National Black Lawyers for four consecutive years. Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Roberts is the Founder and Executive Editor of the Critical Jurisprudence Review, serves on multiple nonprofit boards, and is committed to expanding access to legal education, entrepreneurship, and structural reform in underserved communities. His legal expertise and dedication to the community make him an incredibly valuable addition to the CFAR Board.
