CFAR December 2023 Newsletter

Our staff has been working so incredibly hard this past year: serving more clients than ever before, shifting to a new telehealth platform, launching the Together Through Trauma program expansion into Philly rec centers, and starting an in-depth business planning process. While all of this has been very exciting, it’s also very stressful! Luckily, we have a very supportive and collaborative team hear at CFAR. The wonderful Lift Committee holds fun potlucks and activities throughout the year. The staff went all out to close out this year with a holiday decorating competition, antics throughout the office by Ralph the Elf, and an office scavenger hunt. We’re looking forward to going into 2024 with renewed energy and a strong team spirit!

We were so incredibly proud to receive the 2023 Innovation Award from the Evidence-Based Practice & Innovation Center (EPIC) recently! CFAR is always striving to think outside the box and lead with passion and creativity as we pursue our mission of strengthening families through our life-changing counseling services. EPIC chose CFAR for this award specifically due to our innovative use of Evidence-Based Practices in our unique Together Through Trauma and Children Deserving Services programs. The Together Through Trauma team would like to take a moment to thank the incredible partner organizations that have helped make the program such a success. We would like to specifically highlight CORA Services, Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA), and Redemption Housing for their partnership to further the vital TTT workshops and trainings. We are looking forward to working with CORA and PHA even more in 2024, on a series of engagements that will help community members and organizational staff better process the trauma they face on a daily basis. It's not too late to give to CFAR's year end campaign! We need your support now more than ever. CFAR works almost exclusively with Medicaid clients that struggle with issues like unstable housing situations, street violence, substance abuse, and so many other things that families living in poverty in the city face on a daily basis. CFAR's work to strengthen and heal these families is absolutely critical. In addition, mental health services are more in demand than ever and access to services is a big issue across the city, particularly for low-income families like the ones we serve.
